This salve is incredible for poison ivy or oak rash, contact dermatitis, itchy bug bites, or other skin ailments. Jewelweed (impatiens capensis) contains a compound called Lawsone which has antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. If you have come into contact with poison ivy or oak, please wash the affected area with cold water and soap before applying this salve.
To help your salve last longer, please wash your hands before using and keep it in the refrigerator.
